Springboks to play Wallabies this weekend

After a hectic back-to-back rivalry with the All Blacks, the Springboks will face the Wallabies in a one-off Test in Perth, Australia.



Rassie Erasmus has made 13 changes to the Springboks’ starting team for their one-off Test against the Wallabies, with only Eben Etzebeth and Ethan Hooker keeping their starting spots from the win over the All Blacks.

  • Front row: Jan-Hendrik Wessels, Zachary Porthen and Johan Grobbelaar come into the starting XV.
  • Locks: Eben Etzebeth stays, joining Franco Mostert in the second row.
  • Loose forwards: Paul de Villiers, Elrigh Louw and Marco van Staden make up the new loose-forward combination.
  • Halfbacks: Herschel Jantjies and Handre Pollard take over at scrumhalf and flyhalf.
  • Midfield: Damian Esterhuizen partners Canan Moodie in the centres.
  • Back three: Ethan Hooker keeps his place, joined by Edwill van der Merwe and Aphelele Fassi.
  • Bench: Malcolm Marx, Ox Nche and Wilco Louw provide front-row cover, with Lood de Jager covering lock and Jasper Wiese covering the loose forwards.
  • Backs on the bench: Morne van den Berg, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Quan Horn provide additional options.

Kick-off is at 11:45am on Sunday, 27 September 2026.

The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport.
