Synopsis

In a declining industrial town in Northeast China during the 1990s, a series of bizarre and grotesque deaths occur—a drunkard frozen into an ice sculpture, a strong man brutally dismembered, a local thug who vanishes into thin air…

Though seemingly unrelated, their fates are tightly linked, and their emotions are deeply entangled. Behind this chain of “accidental deaths,” a ray of warmth within complex human nature is gradually revealed, as is a glimmer of hope amid the harsh laws of survival.
