The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) has officially launched the “Mzansi to the World Cup” competition.
This initiative is designed to reward twenty ordinary South Africans with an all-expenses-paid trip to witness Bafana Bafana’s group-stage matches in North America.
To ensure national representation, the department has reserved spots for fans from each of the 16 PSL clubs, alongside wildcard entries for unaffiliated supporters.
The comprehensive prize package covers international flights, accommodation, match tickets, and ground transport, allowing winners to experience the global tournament firsthand.
Aspiring travellers must submit a 30-second video via the DSAC website, demonstrating their football fervour and explaining why they should represent the nation abroad.
The entry window is extremely brief, opening at 08:00 on 29 April 2026 and closing at 17:00 on 1 May 2026.
The Minister and Deputy Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture are scheduled to reveal the successful candidates at 08:00 on 5 May 2026.
According to the department, the project aims to foster national unity and showcase South African spirit on the world stage.
