Residents in the City of Tshwane have been warned of planned water outages expected to affect several parts of the city for the next five days.
The warning follows confirmation from Rand Water that all preliminary preparations have been completed for a two-phased annual maintenance project on its Palmiet, Zuikerbosch, and Mapleton systems.
According to Rand Water, the maintenance work is aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of the water network ahead of the winter season.
Authorities say the timing of the maintenance just before winter, when demand is typically lower, is intended to reduce the overall impact on consumers.
The first phase of the maintenance is scheduled to begin on Friday, 29 May 2026, and continue until Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
Areas supplied by the affected reservoirs are expected to experience water interruptions during this period.
Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly and make the necessary preparations ahead of the planned maintenance.
