Synopsis
Lin Shiyin, the wife of the president of Xinyuan Group, has enjoyed a happy and stable family life in her middle years. However, the regret of never having met her biological parents has always lingered in her heart. After suddenly receiving news about her mother, she returns to the Song family with her daughter, Qi Yu, in search of the truth about her origins.
The Song family sends only a housekeeper to receive them. Privately, the adopted daughter Song Shuqi and her younger brother Song Lüyuan mock Lin Shiyin for being uncultured. Yet when Lin Shiyin makes her graceful appearance, everyone is left stunned.
At a family banquet, Song Shuqi and her mother show off their competition awards, only to be completely overshadowed by Qi Yu’s national-level achievements and her guaranteed admission to top universities like Tsinghua and Peking University. Song Shuqi goes further, ridiculing Lin Shiyin’s husband as a mere construction worker and even urges her to divorce and remarry—an attitude that Yu Rong shockingly tolerates, leaving Lin Shiyin deeply disheartened.
As Lin Shiyin prepares to leave, Yu Rong tries to persuade her to stay using familial ties and promises to publicly acknowledge her identity at Pei Qingyao’s birthday banquet.
