Synopsis
Jin Baozhu, a butcher’s daughter, is a worldly woman. She loves money, admires good looks, and is careful with every penny. Her only dream in life is enjoying a life of luxury. After her father dies, her family’s exploitation of her only worsens.
To escape their grip, Baozhu volunteers to marry into the water transport family as a concubine to the legitimate son, Xie Yan. She believes this will bring her a life of wealth and ease, but little does she know, Xie Yan despises worldly things.
Xie Yan rose to fame at a young age and was proud and talented. But after an accident leaves him crippled, his reputation is ruined. He wallows in self-pity and spends his days with wastrels.
