  • Police are searching for a Klerksdorp man accused of ATM scams targeting community members.
  • Ramagatsi Isaac Molefi allegedly works with a syndicate that steals bank cards and withdraws cash.
  • Authorities are urging the public to come forward with information after he failed to appear in court.

Police are warning the public to stay vigilant as an alleged scammer continues to target unsuspecting victims at ATMs in Klerksdorp.

The suspect, identified as Ramagatsi Isaac Molefi, also known as Mazaza, is believed to have been terrorising community members for years.

Authorities say the situation has escalated to the point where they are now calling on the public to assist in locating the 41-year-old.

Molefi is allegedly part of a syndicate that steals bank cards by distracting victims at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) before withdrawing money from their accounts.

Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said Molefi was previously arrested but failed to reappear in court last week after being granted bail.

“He also has previous convictions for theft, some reported as far back as 2019,” said Mathe.

Police are urging anyone with information that could assist in tracing Molefi to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Connie Nepgen of the Klerksdorp Detectives.
