Orbit College confirm venue change for Pirates game

Orbit College have confirmed a venue change for their highly anticipated Betway Premiership clash against Orlando Pirates later this month.

The two sides are set to meet on 23 May in the final round of the league season, with plenty at stake for both clubs. Pirates remain in the hunt for their first league title in 14 years, while Orbit are battling to retain their PSL status, setting the stage for a potentially explosive encounter.

The match was initially scheduled to take place at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, but the venue has now been ruled unavailable.

In a statement released by the club, Orbit explained the reason behind the change.

“ORBIT College FC wishes to inform its supporters, stakeholders, members of the media and the football community that the Betway Premiership fixture against Orlando Pirates scheduled for Saturday, 23 May 2026 at 15h00 will no longer be played at Royal Bafokeng Stadium,” the club said.

“This follows confirmation from the stadium management that the facility will remain unavailable until 30 June 2026.”

The club added that it is working on securing a suitable replacement venue capable of hosting a high-profile fixture of this nature.

“ORBIT College FC is currently in the process of securing an alternative compliant venue capable of hosting a fixture of this magnitude.”

The newly-promoted side also confirmed that the final venue announcement is expected before the end of the week.

“A final confirmation regarding the venue will be communicated by Friday, 15 May 2026.”

Orbit concluded the statement by apologising for any inconvenience caused to supporters and stakeholders.

“ORBIT College FC apologises for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the patience, understanding and continued support from all stakeholders during this process.”
