Synopsis
Ren Zhen, a young girl from Hubei, resigns from her job and travels to Bortala to clear her mind. There, she meets Jiao Li, a grassroots official. Guided by their former teacher Yin Changying, Ren Zhen decides to help Jiao Li develop the local e-commerce economy. She successfully launches a livestreaming channel under the name “Internet Celebrity Secretary,” helping Xinjiang specialty products like goji berries reach markets across China.
Ren Zhen and Jiao Li gradually come to understand each other. Together, they overcome difficulties and share wonderful moments with the villagers. The guidance and encouragement of their teacher Yin Changying also help the two young people resolve the confusion in their inner worlds.
In the end, Ren Zhen transforms from a hollow young girl fleeing city life into a “star person” who puts down roots in Xinjiang, and together with Jiao Li, she strives for the revitalization of the rural region.
