Kaizer Chiefs have struggled at both ends of the pitch in recent seasons. However, a long-standing issue could be solved soon.
Kaizer Chiefs find some reliable goal-scorers
Gone are the days when Caleb Bimenyimana and Christian Saile were fumbling around and missing good chances. Chiefs now have two foreign attackers who can be relied upon for a big impact in the final third. Increasingly impressive Congolese attacker Glody Lilepo looks the part up top. The 28-year-old, who was signed primarily as a right winger, has four goals and three assists in the league this term. It’s not the most prolific return, but with the support of a youthful attacking midfield trio, he’s a decent short-term option. Meanwhile, Portugal-born striker Flavio Silva now has seven goals in the league in just 17 appearances. That puts him in the ‘super sub’ category for sure.
Orlando Pirates vs Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto Derby
Sunday, 26 April, is the day that Pirates host Chiefs in this season’s final Soweto Derby. Pirates will be back in second place if leaders Sundowns beat Stellenbosch on Wednesday. Either way, it’s must-win for the Sea Robbers. Kickoff from FNB Stadium is at 15:00. The match will be aired on DSTV channel 202.
