Synopsis
In Tongjiang City, three major violent cases break out within just three months: first, a tourist discovers a severed arm floating in the river at Dahei Mountain on the outskirts; then, college student Lu Yang dies under unexplained circumstances at home; soon after, Ye Qiming, a young entrepreneur, is killed in a car accident.
Female detective Jiang Mei of the city’s criminal investigation unit and Shen Feng, newly transferred from the provincial department, are assigned to solve the series of cases.
As the investigation grinds forward, the brutal killings, the deep-seated love and hatred, and the intricate relationships behind the cases gradually come to light.
The causes behind the bloodshed also reveal an unbreakable chain of cause and effect between the temptations of material desire and the distorted human soul.
