Authorities said they are aware of posts circulating online alleging the presence of toxic puffer fish at Sunrise Beach in Muizenberg, but emphasised that there is no official confirmation to support these reports at this stage.
Remain cautious
The City has urged residents to remain cautious when visiting beaches, particularly those accompanied by pets, advising that animals should not be allowed to consume marine life or unidentified objects found along the shoreline.
Officials added that any verified developments will be communicated through official City channels.
