Cape Town water outages this week: Full suburb-by-suburb guide

Cape Town residents in several suburbs across the metro should prepare for planned water supply disruptions this week, with full shut-offs, low-pressure tests and maintenance scheduled between 20 and 25 April.

The City of Cape Town said the work includes valve replacements, water main connections, hydrant repairs and pressure management testing.

In some areas, water will be completely shut off. In others, residents may only notice reduced pressure.

What residents should do:

  • Store enough water in clean, sealed containers.
  • Keep taps closed during shut-offs.
  • Water may look cloudy briefly after restoration. This is trapped air.
  • Some projects may take longer than planned
