On Monday morning, Sizwe Dhlomo unpacked the pros and cons of wearing uniform, referencing an article that explored the debate, particularly in relation to designer clothing in the workplace.

Reflecting on his own experience, he said he attended a school where uniform were compulsory, and over time they realised that allowing civvies was not the best approach.

Mpho Maboi felt the issue ultimately comes down to context. She explained that she does not automatically judge people for what they wear, but the presentation matters.

“I never look at people in a funny way. It all depends on how you wear it. If you wear it in a tacky way, then I am judgmental.”

Juliet shared a similar sentiment, recalling a teacher who once told her: “You are advertising but you are not getting paid by the company.”

She said that comment changed how she viewed classmates who wore prominent brands.

Sizwe then turned the conversation to the Kaya audience, asking whether people judge colleagues who wear designer labels at work.
