Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) says it obtained videos, images and messages allegedly exchanged between two mothers suspected of exploiting their minor children.
The organisation said it delayed releasing information about the case because of its sensitive nature and ongoing investigations.
RUSA added that it has handed all relevant material to the South African Police Service’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in KwaZulu-Natal.
Children allegedly subjected to allegations of lewd acts
According to RUSA, it received information in May 2026 alleging that two mothers living in different parts of the eThekwini Municipality region had involved their children in inappropriate and exploitative activities.
The organisation alleges that one mother involved her seven-year-old son, while the other involved her six-year-old daughter.
RUSA further claims that the women exchanged images of the children and encouraged similar behaviour among other mothers.
Messages form part of investigation
RUSA said the messages, images and videos in its possession show the mothers allegedly directing the children to perform lewd acts.
The organisation also alleges that the women shared images of the children and discussed intimate details in their conversations.
According to RUSA, the messages suggest that the two women were in a romantic relationship and had expressed affection for each other.
Police investigation under way
RUSA said both suspects are South African citizens. RUSA handed the case to the FCS Unit, which is now investigating the allegations.
At the time of publication, police had not made any arrests, and the allegations remained untested in court.
