The award-winning singer celebrated the milestone on social media after crossing the finish line at HYROX Johannesburg.

Award-winning South African jazz and Afro-pop singer Judith Sephuma is celebrating after completing her first HYROX race in Johannesburg this past weekend.

“I did it. My 1st HYROX and definitely not my last.

@underarmour Flow (1st series) was my best choice to run in. Well balanced. The 1000 SkiErg and 100 Wall Balls were too much fun. Thanks to my team, we did well.

The “Mme Motswadi” hitmaker has been on an inspiring fitness journey since 2015.

Sephuma’s wellness journey has included swimming, gym training, running, boxing, and healthy eating. She regularly shares her lifestyle changes and workout routines on social media.

In 2017, Sephuma revealed that her commitment to a healthier lifestyle followed a serious health scare in 2015, when she was admitted to hospital and spent time in the ICU due to complications related to high blood pressure.

She said she had initially been treated for what she thought was heartburn before doctors discovered she had high blood pressure, which had caused her organs to enlarge.

Other celebrities who have taken part in the popular fitness challenge include actress Thando Thabethe, TV presenter Ayanda MVP, Big Brother Mzansi star Sinaye Kotobe, doctor and social media personality Nokukhanya Khanyile-Lenake, and former The River actor Unathi Mkhize.

What is HYROX?

HYROX is a global indoor fitness race in which participants run 1km, followed by one functional workout station, repeating the sequence eight times.

The race caters to both professional athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts looking to challenge themselves.

The sequence consists of:

• 1km Run followed by 1000m SkiErg
• 1km Run followed by 50m Sled Push
• 1km Run followed by 50m Sled Pull
• 1km Run followed by 80m Burpee Broad Jumps
• 1km Run followed by 1000m RowErg
• 1km Run followed by 200m Farmer’s Carry
• 1km Run followed by 100m Sandbag Walking Lunges
• 1km Run followed by 100 Wall Balls

Participants can compete solo, in doubles where partners run together and share the workout stations, or as part of a relay team of four, with each team member completing two 1km runs and two workout stations.
