- INTERPOL South Africa has arrested a 56-year-old US citizen wanted for alleged sexual offences involving his minor daughter.
- Authorities say the suspect fled the United States before being traced to Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.
- He is expected to appear in court as part of extradition proceedings requested by the US government.
INTERPOL South Africa has arrested a United States citizen accused of sexually assaulting his minor daughter.
The 56-year-old fugitive was arrested on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, at his residence in Kabega Park, Gqeberha.
The suspect is wanted by INTERPOL on charges of rape and sexual assault, which were reportedly filed by the victim’s mother with the San Antonio Police Department in 2017.
Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk said the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted his daughter and exchanged explicit messages with her over a period of time. The victim was reportedly 12 years old at the time of the alleged offences.
Following the investigation, authorities alleged that the suspect fled the United States and was later traced to the Eastern Cape in South Africa.
“INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Pretoria traced the suspect and executed a Section 5(1)(b) warrant upon receipt of the USA’s extradition request, with support from the Nelson Mandela Bay District Intervention Task Team, Crime Combating Unit, and Mount Road Crime Intelligence,” said Van Wyk.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Gqeberha Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 29 May 2026, in relation to an extradition application brought by the government of the United States of America.
