Synopsis
Five years ago, Cheng Zhi (Clara Vance) paid out of her own pocket to install an elevator in the old apartment building and allowed all the neighbors to use it for free. Since the community had no property management, she voluntarily took care of the building’s safety for five years without asking for anything in return, providing first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, motion-sensor lights, and other facilities. Yet the neighbors always assumed these improvements were done by a management company.
Later, when she installed a public AED defibrillator inside the elevator, the neighbors reported her seven times, claiming she was “storing personal items” in a shared space and demanding everything be removed. What they never realized was that the safe and convenient life they enjoyed was being destroyed by their own hands.
