BETWAY PREMIERSHIP: KAIZER CHIEFS VS CHIPPA UNITED

Kaizer Chiefs bring the curtain down on their 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign on Saturday when they host Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

It will be only the second meeting between the two sides this season after their first clash ended in a frustrating goalless draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in December. On that occasion, the Chilli Boys sat deep, defended stubbornly and left Amakhosi without a breakthrough. As a result, both teams are still searching for their first goal against each other this campaign.

Kaizer Chiefs arrive in Durban in far stronger spirits. Nasreddine Nabi’s side sit third on the table with 54 points and have built momentum at the right time of the season after back-to-back victories over Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu.

KAIZER CHIEFS CHASING STRONG FINISH

With CAF Confederation Cup football already secured, the pressure has eased around Naturena. However, finishing on 57 points and ending the season with three consecutive league wins would still represent a strong statement heading into the next campaign.

Chiefs have also carried encouraging momentum in recent weeks, with several younger players increasingly entering discussions around the first team setup.

Saturday’s match could therefore offer one final opportunity to close the season positively in front of supporters in Durban.

CHIPPA UNITED FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL

For Chippa United, the equation is far more stressful.

The Eastern Cape outfit arrive in 13th place on 25 points and are still looking nervously over their shoulders. Three defeats in their last five matches, including a recent loss to Golden Arrows, have left them only one point above the promotion/relegation playoff places.

A positive result against Chiefs would remove any remaining anxiety and secure their top-flight status without depending on results elsewhere.

That survival pressure could make Chippa dangerous, while Chiefs will be eager to finish their campaign with one final victory.
