Pitso says this Premier League club suits Mofokeng

Orlando Pirates’ 21-year-old superstar Relebohile Mofokeng is increasingly linked with a move to Europe after another stellar season.

With four games left for the season, the Sharpeville-born star has already hit double figures with 11 goals and eight assists in 32 games.

The legendary Pitso Mosimane, Africa’s greatest ever coach with three CAF Champions League titles, has joined the chat about Mofokeng’s evolution and future.

According to Mosimane, Mofokeng has duly evolved from a creator into a goal-scoring attacking midfielder. As a number 10, also known reffered to as an attacking midfielder, select playing models can complement his game.

The former Al Ahly, Bafana Bafana, Al-Ahli Saudi, Al Wahda, and Abha Club and Esteghlal FC coach feels Mofokeng would thrive at English Premier League side Aston Villa.

“Yeah, a top talent, hey! He (Mofokeng) is very intelligent,” Mosimane said on the Marawa Sports Worldwide show.

“Is he a winger or a striker? He’s a 10, but it depends on how you use a 10. If you play a 4-3-3 there’s no 10. It’s a 6 and two 8s. If you play 4-2-3-1, he’s a 10.

“But if you play 4-4-2 with wingers coming inside a lot, then he’s not a winger. He fits in well in Aston Villa’s shape.”

“He’s a half of almost everything, but what I like is now he’s scoring goals. We used to know him assisting a lot, but now he’s scoring,” Mosimane added.
