A growing number of Springboks have left South Africa to join overseas-based outfits in recent months.
Springboks stars remain in high demand and a number of them have accepted no doubt lucrative offers from clubs in Japan, France and the United Kingdom.
Let’s take a look at all the capped Springbok internationals who are or will be plying their trade abroad following recent big moves.
SPRINGBOKS LEAVING SA TO PLAY THEIR CLUB RUGBY ABROAD

Lanky Bulls lock, Ruan Nortje was among the latest Springboks to confirm he was heading abroad.
“The Vodacom Bulls can confirm that lock forward Ruan Nortje has accepted an offer to join an overseas club in Japan at the conclusion of the current season, bringing to a close an extraordinary chapter in his career at Loftus Versfeld,” The Bulls confirmed.
Meanwhile, Salmaan Moerat, who lead out the Springboks against Portugal in 2024, is the other Springbok lock who will be jetting off to play his rugby overseas.
As reported on The South African, the Stormers lock will be leaving the Cape-based outfit to play his rugby in France next season.
The duo join RG Snyman (Leinster), Franco Mostert (Honda Heat), Lood de Jager (Wild Knights) and Jean Kleyn (Munster) as other Springboks locks playing their rugby overseas.

Meanwhile, elusive and speedy scrumhalf Grant Williams has just said ‘sayonara’ to South Africa.

Meanwhile, Manie Libbok (Hanazono Kintetsu Liners) and Lukhyano Am (Mitsubishi Sagamihara DynaBoars) are both already playing their rugby in Japan following recent moves.
