Thato Mokoena says “irreconcilable” incidents led to the split, urging fans not to speculate

Big Brother Mzansi season 3 contestants Thato Mokoena and Brandon ‘Gash1’ Mthombeni have announced the end of their marriage.
Thato confirmed their separation in an official media statement on Saturday, leaving many of their fans, known as “Tash1,” shocked and searching for answers.
“After three years of marriage, Gashwan Brandon Mthombeni and I are no longer together. Following incidents that happened in the past few days that are irreconcilable by my standards and values, I have made the decision to walk away,” she said.
The announcement sparked speculation online, with many assuming infidelity may have played a role in the breakup. However, Thato clarified that this was not the case.
“I respectfully ask that this does not turn into a Thato and Gash1 battle. We met, fell in love and tried building a family to the best of our abilities. For me, I am heartbroken, but I need to soldier on and continue working,” she added.
She also confirmed that she will not be commenting further on the matter, noting that Gash1 remains the father of their son, who was born last year.

The couple met during the Big Brother Mzansi season 3 competition and began dating shortly before Thato’s eviction. They later got married and welcomed a baby boy.
